New & Existing

[Before Kitchen Photo]

Without overwhelming the original home, this project adds a Master Suite and Bedroom over a Studio and expanded Living Room. A new interior layout adds a Foyer and enlarged Kitchen with island that is a social hub in the open 1st floor plan.

Existing Front

The old Dining Room was converted to the Foyer with Powder Room, moving the front door from center to side. Custom railings and shutters outside are also found inside, opening the Foyer to the interior living spaces.

Custom sliding glass interior doors keep the vistas open while allowing for separation of the studio space. New large doors on the rear extend the living spaces beyond the interior into the back garden.

Master Bedroom & Studio Rear before & after

The addition at the rear places a strong vertical element next to the existing house, the rearranged openings create an orderly backdrop for the rear garden.

The large Master Bedroom windows face the back yard for privacy. The room's 10 foot ceiling height and concealed skylights give the space a soft airy glow from indirect natural light.
